This is precisely what did in this music room by using statement orange curtains and tangerine lamps while letting the blue and white recede to a single armchair. It ties in blue to fit in with the rest of the house. It is a huge proponent of painting things white, especially furniture. White modernizes and freshens. People are afraid of their old grandmothers found furniture, but their forms are so fabulous and remain timeless.
The secret? Working with various hues within each of these two complementary color families. The blue included cobalt, turquoise, delft, navy. Within the orange family, corals, tangerines, grapefruits. Really rich hues, not muted. Using a combo of blue and white is like wearing a white shirt with blue jeans, or a navy blue blazer and a white shirt.
If this scenario feels familiar, you are not alone and we might just have the answer you need, texture. For some reason, texture seems to always to be an afterthought when it comes to interiors and we are here to change that. Our reasoning, texture is the thing that makes a room pop. It is what brings a perfectly fine design up to enviable levels.
Red lips can be your best accessory, especially if you are wearing all black. You have to be confident to do it and have the right shade of red for your skintone. You know how sometimes you can just look at a room and know that something is missing? All the components of a complete design are there, color scheme, furniture, décor items, but the entire room just feels a little flat.
