If you are trying to decorate a small home, it can sometimes feel like your options are limited. And while there is not much you can do to add square footage, there are plenty of ways to make your tiny apartment feel perfectly put together. The key is taking advantage of the largest open spaces you have, your walls. Those empty walls are filled with possibilities and a few additions can make a small apartment feel cozy and stylish, instead of stark and cramped.
Gallery owners and museum curators, however, swear by the 60 inches on center rule. This means that you measure up 60 inches from the ground to find the spot where the center of a piece of art should be on the wall. It works well in many situations, but there are some cases when you may want to alter the height, if you are shorter than the average person, try 57 inches on center, if the art work is an unusual size or shape that looks unnatural at that height.
